Pink Floyd Live in Venice (1989) DVD & FLAC

No dia 15 de julho de 1989, Pink Floyd fez um dos shows mais controversos de sua história, na Praça de São Marcos, em Veneza, Itália. Mesmo com a forte onda de protestos contra a realização do concerto, gratuito e aberto ao público, mais de 200.000 pessoas assistiram à apresentação, que só aconteceu depois de um acordo entre os moradores e a produção da banda (o volume do som foi reduzido para não danificar os monumentos históricos da região).

O show foi um grande sucesso, acompanhado por mais de 100 milhões de telespectadores em 23 países. Mas a cidade de Veneza nunca mais permitiria outro evento de tamanha magnitude na região.

Apesar dos esforços da equipe do Pink Floyd, o estrago não pôde ser evitado e mais de 300 toneladas de lixo foram deixadas para trás, gerando um verdadeiro caos que resultou na demissão do vereador responsável pela Comissão Cultural de Veneza e a mobilização das forças armadas para a restauração e limpeza da cidade. A canção "On the Turning Away" nesta apresentação, é considerada a melhor versão ao vivo da banda. Boa audição!

Comments (as they came with the files) The source for this remaster was a superb stereo recording, taped from a German FM radio rebroadcast of the concert in Venezia. Dozens of hours were spent, in order to manually clean every little FM noise (crackles, slight buzz,...) and make this remaster as close as posstible to the quality of an official release.

It has to be noted that the German radio rebroadcast cut the second half of Wish You Were Here. The missing portion was patched from a TV broadcast source. The intro and outro (fireworks) of the show were also taken from the TV broadcast, in order to make this recording more complete (the FM source ended rather abruptly after the last chord of Run Like Hell).

This stereo remaster was used for the audio part of the "Live In venezia" DVD from Cochon Production. MOB. (YEESHKUL)
