Pink Floyd - Belgium FM Broadcast (1972) 2010 - Pig Records

Este registro decorre da transmissão de uma rádio FM da Bélgica, a Radio 1, que muito provavelmente transmitiu na íntegra este show do "Pink Floyd" realizado no Sport Palais Vorst Nationaal em Bruxelas, Bélgica, dia 05 de dezembro de 1972. Em virtude do que existe disponível (03 músicas), não se sabe ao certo. Houveram notícias de 03 gravações. A que temos aqui foi a mais recente, quando a emissora retransmitiu o episódio original no dia 31 de outubro de 2005.

Mesmo que incompleto, é muito bom ouvir uma gravação genuína deste show. A confirmação de que este broadcast corresponde ao concerto de 05.12.1972 na Bélgica, tornou-se possível quando comparado à uma gravação de platéia com a data correta desta transmissão.

Disse o autor desta gravação: "Eu não sei da existência de outra fonte desta data, e eu também não tenho ideia se a rádio belga realmente gravou o concerto completo na ocasião. Durante a retransmissão haviam apenas estas faixas. Desconheço a data e ou o lugar dos comentários que você pode ouvir no início da transmissão. Pode ter sido um clipe na mesma data ou seria outra data? Enfim, Aproveite!"

Este arquivo gravado em outubro de 2005, foi editado em 2010, intitulado "Some Old Bastards in Cucamunga". Isto em virtude do programa da rádio ser conhecida como "Cucamonga" e dos comentários do locutor na ocasião. No fim do post, uma versão do site brain damage abordando este episódio. Boa audição!

Rare Floyd live recording on Belgian radio

Last night saw an unusual, vintage recording of Pink Floyd, broadcast on Belgian radio. As part of Radio 1 Belgium's Cucamonga show, excerpts from the band's 5th December 1972 concert at the Sport Palais Vorst Nationaal in Brussels were aired. Whilst the sound quality wasn't fantastic, it was great to hear. Starting with a version of Time, that was typical of the 1972 performances (with a nice guitar solo), one also heard Breathe Reprise (slightly strained vocals from David Gilmour on this one). An excerpt from the hilarious 1969 interview they undertook in Blackpool, England for a university publication follows, and things are concluded with a well-paced version of Careful With That Axe, Eugene (which features a short passage of Roger's Scottish ranting!). The show was streamed on their website, and if you wish to hear the recording for yourself, go to Radio 1's Cucamonga page, click on "Behister de jongste uitzending", and on the radio player that launches, select your chosen quality based on your bandwidth/connection speed.
