Pink Floyd vai lançar estação de rádio oficial

   

Pink Floyd finalmente terá sua própria estação de rádio oficial nos EUA pela rede de rádio via satélite Sirius XM. O lançamento previsto em 27 de maio de 2012 e estará disponível inicialmente nos EUA e em Porto Rico. 

Antes da sua performance de "The Wall" no sábado, no Los Angeles Coliseum, o roqueiro britânico Roger Waters compareceu no show noturno de Jim Ladd na Sirius XM nesta quinta-feira para anunciar o lançamento inédito de um canal do "Pink Floyd". O novo canal tem lançamento previsto para 29 de maio na rede via satélite.

A SiriusXM prevê lançar o "The Pink Floyd Channel", com músicas, entrevistas e difunde concertos histórico dos arquivos Pink Floyd. Clássicos Pink Floyd, seu catálogo recém remasterizado, além de álbuns solo pelos membros da banda; Roger Waters e David Gilmour, raridades, demos e muito mais, hospedado pelo host da SiriusXM do DJ Jim Ladd.

Roger Waters anunciou o lançamento de um canal de Pink Floyd quando visitou show noturno de rock veterano DJ Jim Ladd na Sirius XM, ontem, em Los Angeles. O novo canal vai lançar na terça-feira 29 de maio, e terá shows do Pink Floyd, entrevistas, raridades, e irá ao ar catálogo completo do grupo gravado. 

Roger Waters disse: "Eu não consigo pensar em uma casa melhor para o catálogo do Pink Floyd, e todo o material solo, que SiriusXM", disse Waters em um comunicado. "Como fresco para todos os nossos fãs e que uma ótima maneira de introduzir o trabalho de novas gerações de ouvintes. "

Não só o Pink Floyd Channel  irá transmitir o catálogo inteiro da banda, incluindo álbuns solo, mas também contará com entrevistas, raridades e gravações de concertos capturados em audiência. Um sonho se tornado realidade o material de vários shows tendo a devida atenção com toda tecnologia disponível em remasterização.

"O Pink Floyd Channel" será estruturado e organizado pelo anfitrião SiriusXM de  Jim Ladd, o lendário DJ  que vem realizando entrevistas com os Pink Floyd desde a sua primeira visita aos Estados Unidos em 1979.

"Este canal vai trazer o catálogo diverso e distinto da música apenas para assinantes SiriusXM", disse Scott Greenstein, presidente e diretor de conteúdo principal, SiriusXM .

O canal terá entre 25-28 maio na Sirius XM, fase experimental no canal 27, e voltando em 29 junho até 8 julho na Sirius Canal 142 e XM canal 43. Ele estará disponível on-line em tempo integral no canal 802 e  um período prolongado para smartphones e dispositivos móveis na XM Sirius Radio App Internet.

Ladd é um defensor de longa data dos Pink Floyd e foi recrutado por Waters como o narrador do conceito do álbum "Radio Kaos" de 1987

"The Pink Floyd Channel" to feature vintage concerts, special interviews and the entire Pink Floyd catalog

NEW YORK, May 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that it will launch "The Pink Floyd Channel," the commercial-free music channel featuring music, interviews and historic concert broadcasts from the Pink Floyd archives.

Pink Floyd's Roger Waters announced the channel live on SiriusXM's Jim Ladd Show on Thursday, May 17.

"The Pink Floyd Channel" will launch on Friday, May 25 at 12:00 pm ET and will run through Monday, May 28 on channel 27. The channel will also be available Friday, June 29 through Monday, July 9 on Sirius channel 142 and XM channel 43. Additionally, "The Pink Floyd Channel" will be available as a 24/7 channel online on channel 802 and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and mobile devices beginningFriday, June 29 for an extended period.

The channel will feature Pink Floyd music, including their classic albums in their entirety, recently remastered and released as part of the "Why Pink Floyd?" campaign (www.whypinkfloyd.com). "The Pink Floyd Channel" will also feature solo albums by Pink Floyd members Roger Waters,David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason and Syd Barrett, live concerts, rarities, demo versions of classic Pink Floyd songs and studio outtakes.

"The Pink Floyd Channel" will be curated and hosted by SiriusXM host Jim Ladd, the legendary free-form DJ who has been conducting interviews with Pink Floyd since their first visit to the United States in 1979. Ladd was also part of Roger Waters' album Radio K.A.O.S. and subsequent tour. Ladd hosts the Jim Ladd Show, the weekday free-form rock show featuring musically-themed sets, interviews and more on Deep Tracks, channel 27.

SiriusXM listeners will hear an in-depth interview conducted by Jim Ladd with Roger Waters, as well as with David Gilmour and fellow Pink Floyd member Nick Mason.
