Arena - The Seventh Degree of Separation (2011)

What If?

"Well this is my first tour with Arena and Ive made it this far, 7 days in and I havent lost my voice yet. Im sure youre happy to hear that I am being disciplined with getting lots of sleep and rest and curbing the drinking!!! Yesterday we were in Poznan, Its getting cold now in Poland and for a moment I thought it would snow, it didnt, what a shame! The Audiences so far have been great and reaction to the new album has been really positive, were playing 7 songs from the new album and although that can be risky as Arena has an abundance of songs from previous albums that Im sure the fans would love to hear, I think it was the right decision to play the new material as theyve been going so well! So far so good. Big show tonight as it’s the recording for the DVD, I will go out and give my best. I just want to enjoy the show and I hope the Audience are up for singing tonight!

all the best, and thanks for the support,
Paul!"

Two things that have happened to me this year that havent happened for a while, playing with Arena, and playing in Poland. The last time here was with Clive and Mark Westwood playing She for the live DVD, about 3 years ago. I was also reminded I’d played some shows here in about 2004 with Jadis supporting Arena, prior to another DVD recording. And of course I played 3 or so shows in 2006 with Arena when Ian wasn’t available.

Have to say I’m really enjoying myself. It’s great being back out with the chaps, a bit older, not sure about wiser, but all made easier by having a great crew behind us. Looking forward to each gig, and each day. Onward…!
